Idle Eye is a film production company and artist collective based in Amsterdam. We champion audio-visual experiences that question established norms and encourage contemplative thought.

 

Founded in 2019 by Rafael Manuel and Naomi Pacifique while attending the London Film School, and joined in Amsterdam by Albert Kuhn and Adela Bottcher, our ethics rely on a belief in slow and intentioned process as a resistance to monoculture. To this end, we work both with new and established artists, keen to both affect and learn from them.

Idle Eye is directed by Rafael Manuel, Naomi Pacifique, Albert Kuhn and Adela Bottcher. Our films have won major prizes at the Berlinale, Sundance, & Locarno, have screened at IFFR, San Sebastian, IDFA, Clermont Ferrand, FID Marseilles, & Visions du Reel, and are exhibited by ARTE and the Criterion Collection.
